Stardust

About the band: STARDUST

STARDUST is a band of six Israeli musicians united by love for the music of David Bowie. We have performed for four years, playing a tribute, not an imitation, and telling his story between the songs. The band used to perform as YADAYADAS, and changed its name to STARDUST in 2026.

The band members

Roi Isak, Lead Vocals & Percussion

Roi Isak

Lead Vocals & Percussion

Roi Isak brings years of musical work and a deep connection to rhythm and music from diverse traditions. He was previously a member of Alila, a world-music ensemble that released an album and toured internationally. He was also lead singer of The Rubber Band, a tribute act to the greats of punk. On the 2010 album Etzel Isak he performed percussion and vocals: darbuka, dohola, djembe, and oud. In Stardust he brings that same rhythmic, intuitive sensibility into Bowie's music.

Guy Wittenberg, Saxophone, Violin & Vocals

Guy Wittenberg

Saxophone, Violin & Vocals

Guy Wittenberg is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in saxophone and violin, with roughly 15 years of professional activity and hundreds of shows in Israel and abroad. Alongside his independent work and production for various ensembles, Guy was part of Portrait, one of Israel's leading pop-punk bands, founded in 1989 and a landmark of the Israeli music scene of the 1990s. He played in the band's reunited lineup, in the horn section.

Gil "Eggroll" Idan, Drums

Gil "Eggroll" Idan

Drums

Gil Idan, known as "Eggroll," is a drummer with a long history in Israeli rock. He was a member and co-founder of Eggroll, a band that started back in high school, and later played in Susita, a group that defined its style as "Canaanite rock", a blend of rooted Israeli music, progressive rock, and shepherd songs. Gil played on the band's 2005 album and also contributed to arrangements.

Dedi Kovach, Keyboards & Vocals

Dedi Kovach

Keyboards & Vocals

Dedi Kovach is Stardust's keyboardist, holding a central role in shaping the show's color and atmosphere: the synth textures, piano lines, and sounds that carry the different worlds Bowie moved through over his career. He brings touches of jazz and electronic music into the mix, adding a distinctive flavor to the show's sound.

Ofer Pal, Bass

Ofer Pal

Bass

Ofer Pal is Stardust's bassist, the anchor the band's groove leans on. Beyond Stardust, he performs with The Paranoids, a Green Day tribute act, as well as several other local bands.

Ron Yona, Guitars

Ron Yona

Guitars

Ron Yona is Stardust's guitarist. Born on Kibbutz Gadot at the foot of the Golan Heights, he has loved music since childhood, growing up on Israeli songs from every era and on classical music. He studied at the Rimon School of Music and specializes in guitar, arranging, orchestration and composition. He co-founded the band Susita, has accompanied a range of singers, and currently plays with King George, alongside recordings and other live projects. In Stardust he brings his guitar sound and arranging craft to Bowie's world.

The story of the band

We began as a group of musicians united by a love of Bowie, who wanted to make a tribute and not an imitation: with violin, saxophone and percussion, and with a story. Since September 2022 we have played over 70 shows in towns, live music clubs, festivals and more.

In 2026 we changed the name from YADAYADAS to STARDUST, because the new name says simply what we do on stage. The band and the music stayed the same.
